A lonely old Puerto Rican farmer travels to the city for the first time to learn that happiness is not wishing to be elsewhere.



Un campesino puertorriqueño viaja a la ciudad por primera vez y aprende que la felicidad se encuentra cuando aprecias quien eres.



Synopsis

Juan is a 60 year old man living all by himself in his house in the rural mountains. He lives a simple, lonely life. This all changes when he gets a visit from Keila, an inquisitive young American woman of Puerto Rican descent.

Her infatuation with everything to do with Puerto Rican culture and his need for someone to talk to leads them to have a “one night stand”. And it is during the shameful walk back home that Juan realizes that in the simplicity of his rural life lies the only kind of happiness he needs.



Juan es un campesino viejo que vive solo en su casa en la montaña de Puerto Rico. Vive una vida simple pero solitaria. Todo esto cambia cuando recibe una visita de Keila, una joven americana de padres puertorriqueños.

La obsesión de Keila con todo lo que es la cultura puertorriqueña y la necesidad de Juan de revivir un amor pasado los lleva a tener un “one night stand”. Y es durante el vergonzoso camino a su hogar que Juan realiza que en la simplicidad de una vida rural está toda la felicidad que necesita.



Characters

Juan - An old but handsome farmer (late 50s to late 60s). Lives with the regret of never going down to the city.

Keila - A beautiful young woman (20s to 30s). Born in the United States, but of Puerto Rican descent.



Una joven bella (20 a 30 años). Nació en los estados unidos pero es de familia puertorriqueña.



Tito - A young country boy (8 to 10 years old). Full of energy and very observant.
